"This penultimate par 5 is a monster, and combines with the 14th and 16th to make up the toughest stretch of holes on the back nine. We're in the valley again, and the bracken strides down both sides of the fairway for 200 yards, after which it beings to turn a gentle dogleg right. Now more oaks and birches appear either side ready to swallow up anything mishit. Only the longest hitters will be able to go for the green in two, so for mortals it's a lay up to the path at the end of the valley with some 140 yards still to go to the flag. The blind third shot has to be very well struck to find a highly elevated putting surface on the ridge beyond which is cut into the side hill and slopes from right to left."
